MSDS DeScaler Water Treatment

 

 

 

Tarksol DeScaler is a powerful scale, calcium, lime and rust remover suitable for use on most materials. Tarksol DeScaler does not present the same health and safety concerns associated with most other mineral acid base products.

Tarksol DeScaler is effective as it will clean and remove calcium and water hardness deposits, or rust & scale off steel within seconds and at room temperature! Equivalent active 5% solutions of Tarksol DeScaler will consume approximately two (2) times the amount of calcium than phosphoric acid based products and about four (4) times more than Rydlyme.

Tarksol DeScaler is safe because it is non-fuming, non-corrosive and non-regulated for transportation purposes. This product is classified as non-corrosive having been tested to have a corrosion rate of 0.6379 millimeters per year (mmpy) according to OSHA and DOT guidelines.

Tarksol DeScaler is non-carcinogenic, non-toxic and generally regarded as safe (GRAS). Avoid using at full strength on aluminum, galvanized metal or painted surfaces.

Tarksol DeScaler is versatile as it can be used in just about any cleaning application where acid base products are used.

DeScaler has received the "letter of acceptance from CFIA, Canadian Food Inspection Agency for use on surfaces where subsequent food contact may occur. USDA approval is currently pending.

Tarksol DeScaler is Environmentally sensitive, as it does not contain conventional acids used in similar products. It is rapidly biodegradable and non-ozone depleting.

Tarksol DeScaler is typically used in spray and wipe applications and most hard surfaces to remove calcium and water hardness build-up. It may be diluted 3 or 5:1 with water for less difficult cleaning such as routine flushes in equipment. It is strongly advised to rinse thoroughly after cleaning to avoid subsequent oxidation.

Tarksol DeScaler is stable for up to one year or longer when stored as recommended.

Storage and Handling

Adequate ventilation is always required when using any cleaning product. Do not get in eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact. Avoid breathing mist or vapor. Store in a cool, dry place. This product can attack aluminum; galvanized metal or painted surfaces, always run a check prior to using or in doubt contact your Tarksol DeScaler supplier.
