Biomass Alcohol Invert Emulsions Technical Information Tarksol HTF-10 & 40 Product Description Tarksol HTF-10 and HTF-40 are unique natural biomass alcohol based invert emulsions utilizing the newest research chemistry. These emulsions do not contain aromatic, petroleum, chlorinated or fluorinated solvents. They have low odor and a Tag Closed Cup flash point over 212 ° F providing safer and pleasant environments at work stations in and out of the plant. The Tarksol patented technology offers the biomass alcohol technology with low degree of odor and flash points over 212° F.HTF-10 and HTF-40 are specially engineered products designed to perform as a powerful solvent, offering the following advantages over aliphatic, aromatic, chlorinated, and fluorinated solvents.
Each of the major pollution control statutes lists chemicals for which specific regulations were placed. These chemicals are referred to as toxic of hazardous substances or wastes, depending on the statute. While many chemical solvents such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic compounds appear on the various lists, the natural biomass alcohol does not. Applications
Tarksol HTF 40 and HTF-10 are invert emulsions and do require dilution with water to be effective. The following chart demonstrates independent laboratory testing of 10% and 20% dilution on many different soils. It should be noted 10% dilution’s are much more effective than a more concentrated dilution, of 20%
Shaded areas show best results Use Immerse parts in tank containing HTF-40 or HTF-10 solution, wash and rinse the same as using mineral spirits type solvents. The use of mechanical agitation and filtration or oil pig will significantly improve the cleaning and extend the life of the solution. The Tarksol invert emulsions may be used in parts washers, ultrasonic cleaners, dip tanks, and power washers up to 165 ° F or as a wipe solvent. Ventilation is recommended when either heating or working in a confined space. Although the solvent vapors are not harmful, they can be irritating to some people.Specifications Tarksol HTF-10 and HTF-40 are very concentrated invert emulsions.
