Tarksol SC Plus is a general-purpose heavy duty cleaning and degreasing solvent, that is a blend of a Biomass Alcohol and a Clean Air Solvent distillate.. This unique solvent is very effective in applications where mineral spirits is the solvent of choice. Tarksol SC Plus does not contain any chlorinated or chlorofluorocarbon solvents which contribute to ozone depletion, environmental damage, or human concerns. Effective Tarksol SC Plus utilizes a carefully rapid evaporation rate to clean and quickly dry any parts normally cleaned with mineral spirits or other VOC solvents, without re-deposition. Clean Tarksol SC Plus will not leave a residue on ultimate evaporation. Ideal for use in all engineering applications, especially as a  clean-up solvent or any application where mineral spirits is the preferred solvent of choice, without the low flash point and VOC’s. Tarksol SC Plus is an excellent replacement in formulated products where mineral spirits is used. Tarksol SC Plus offers all the benefits and properties of mineral spirits, without the extremely low flash point or VOC’s.

Applications – Formulations

The Ozone Transportation Commission (OTC) has initiated VOC Regulations beginning 1/1/05 . Tarksol SC Plus is an excellent substitute for most VOC solvents in degreasing or in specialty formulations. Properties are very similar to odorless mineral spirits, except Tarksol SC Plus is not a VOC and has a much higher flash point (>200 deg F)
